This door lock kit is designed to replace the discontinued Bargman L400 and Lyster 20-213 / 20-214 door locks found on boler trailers, although it may also fit many other vintage trailers (see Note below).
Using common tools the average DIY’er can replace their door lock with a modern travel trailer lockset with deadbolt.
The complete kit includes:
1 – Chrome Travel Trailer Door lock, packaged
1 – Inner Aluminum Adapter Plate
1 – Outer Aluminum Adapter Plate
1 – Aluminum Striker Plate
2 – #8-32x½” Flat Head Machine Screws
4 – #8-32x¾” Flat Head Machine Screws
4 – #8-32×1” Flat Head Machine Screws
2 – #10-24x¾” Flat Head Machine Screws, Washers and Nuts
6 – ⅛” Aluminum Rivets
1 roll – Butyl Sealing Tape
NOTE: This lock kit will NOT FIT fibreglass trailers that have a moulded profile around the door lock like Trillium, Surfside, Burro and early model Escape (ETI). For Scamp trailers order Boler Door Lock Replacement Kit (1968-1974 Boler & most Scamp).
The area around the door lock must be flat and smooth on both the inside and outside with a door thickness of no more than 1½”.
This lock replacement kit is designed to replace a door lock that has an outside door handle that looks like this:
It is designed to replace the discontinued Bargman L400 and Lyster 20-213 / 20-214 door locks found on the boler fibreglass trailer.
The door thickness in the area the door lock and adapter plates mount must be between 1⅛" to 1⅜" thick. NOTE: the lock will not work on doors thicker than 1½".
